V Australia offers discounted flights
Right now, if you are looking to fly premium, then you can not go wrong with V Australia. This is even more true if you are looking to fly from Australia to Los Angeles and back. Right now, V Australia, the offshoot of Virgin Blue, is now launching their trans-Pacific flights. However, that is not the big news here. The big news is the fact that they are offering these premium flights at discounted prices! In fact, you can get a return ticket from Australia to LA for $1199.
To make all of this possible, V Australia is looking to buy up seven Boeing 777 jetliners. These massive jets will operate three days a week. However, that will only be for the start of their operation. Later on, these jets will be flying daily from Australia to Los Angeles. The jets will be able to carry more than 360 passengers in three different class configurations. In fact, the classes will be made up of the economy section, the premium economy and, of course, the international business classes.
Of course, these low prices are not good news to everyone. In fact, Qantas, another well known airline, is in a price war right now with V Australia. The $1199 return ticket that we talked about above actually undercuts Qantas’ lowest price ticket by over $800. This is a very high profit route for Qantas, and they are not pleased with this new ticket war that they are in. Qantas will have to do something, or they run the risk of losing a lot of business to V Australia.
