Comparing economy to premium economy

Premium economy is a relatively new seat class. Simply put, this type of seat in terms of pricing lies between the economy class and the business class. This type of seat started off with Europe based airlines and they are slowly being implemented by other airlines around the world.

Premium economy seats provide the perks of business and first class without being too expensive. Although it’s not the same compared to first class and business class seats, the comfort level will be considerably better compared to economy class. This is due to the fact that premium economy will now have better legroom. The in-flight entertainment are even better as they are now installed in each seat. There are also extra baggage allowance as a premium economy passenger. Passengers will not be seated with the business class passengers but they will have a separate area in the economy area.

Are they worth it? Depends on your need. If you are traveling with a lot of baggage with the whole family, it would be better to go for premium economy seats. But if you are traveling alone and just would like to go to your preferred destination, the extra fee may not be worth it. Of course, you still have to consider if you have the right budget to pay for the fee.

The best thing about premium economy seats is that you’ll have a little bit better flight experience compared to economy seats. Since the price difference is not that much, a little comfort during a long flight might just be worth it.
